A. Personal information to be collected and purpose of its use
Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe may collect personal information to provide various services, such as reservation, etc. In cases where a member fails to enter required information, he/she cannot sign up for membership. However, even if a member fails to enter optional information, there will be no limitation on the signing-up for membership or the use of service.

 B. Consent to the disclosure of personal information to a contractor for service use.
Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe consigns the handling of personal information to a contractor in order to provide customers with essential services for the customers’ convenience. Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe prescribes the following matters with a consignment agreement, etc.: compliance with personal information protection-related acts and subordinate statutes; confidentiality of personal information; prohibition of disclosure to a third party; responsibility in case of incidents; consignment period; obligation to return or destroy personal information after the completion of processing, etc. Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe also manages the contractor to comply with the consignment agreement, etc.

 

3. Disclosure of personal information to a third party

Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall prescribe the following matters to provide customers with better services: party that receives personal information; use purpose of personal information of the party that receives personal information; personal information to be disclosed; and retention and use period of personal information of the party that receives personal information.   • In cases wherein it is specifically prescribed by relevant acts and subordinate statutes, such as the Protection of Communications Secrets Act, Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc., Act on Real Name Financial Transactions and Guarantee of Secrecy, Use and Protection of Credit Information Act, Framework Act on Telecommunications, Telecommunications Business Act, Consumer Protection Act, Criminal Procedure Act, etc. (provided, that even in cases where an administrative authority or an investigative agency demands customers’ personal information for administrative or investigative purposes, the personal information will be disclosed only when the administrative authority or investigative agency demands the personal information under due process, such as warrant or document sealed by the head thereof)
  • Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe may disclose or share a customer’s personal information with its affiliates for better services. In this case, Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall go through a process to obtain the customer’s consent as to the party that will receive the customer’s personal information, use purpose, personal information to be disclosed, and retention and use period via e-mail, webpage, phone and document. In cases wherein a customer does not consent thereto, Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall not disclose or share the customer’s personal information with its affiliates.

 

4. Use and retention period of personal information

Once the collection and use purpose of personal information is accomplished due to withdrawal, disqualification, etc., Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall destroy the relevant personal information without delay. In cases where the personal information is already disclosed to a third party, Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall take measures to cause the third party to destroy the personal information. Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall use customers’ personal information only for retention purposes and their retention period shall be as follows:

  • Record regarding customer complaint or dispute settlement

- Legal basis: Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.
- Retention period: 3 years

  • In cases wherein a customer consents: retain for a period to which the customer consents

 

5. Procedure and method for destroying personal information

Once the collection and use purpose of personal information is accomplished, Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall destroy, in principle, the relevant personal information without delay. The procedure and method to destroy personal information shall be as follows.

  • Destruction procedure

- Information that a member enters for membership, etc. shall be destroyed after being saved for a certain period of time after its purpose is accomplished in accordance with an internal policy and a legal basis (see use and retention period) in relevant Acts and subordinate statutes.
- Personal information shall not be used for purposes other than the purpose of retention in accordance with the law.

  • Destruction method

- Personal information that is contained in a document shall be shredded by a shredder or shall be incinerated.
- Personal information that is saved in an electronic file shall be deleted in a manner that prevents its restoration or reproduction.

 

6. Rights of user and his/her legal representative and its exercise method

A user may access or modify his/her personal information at any time in a webpage or by contacting the personal information protection manager by phone or e-mail. Also, a user may cancel his/her subscription.

In cases wherein a user requests to correct an error in his/her personal information, Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall not use or disclose the personal information until the error is corrected. In cases wherein the personal information was already disclosed to a third party, Mercure Seoul Ambassador Gangnam Sodowe shall notify the third party of the result of correction without delay and shall cause the third party to reflect the result of correction.
